An On-Grid System or Grid Tied System is one in which the Solar Energy Generating plant is connected to the Grid through a Net Meter. Electricity generated through the system is Transmitted to the Grid. Units Generated in the Grid are accumulated in the electricity bill of the consumer. Consumer does not need to pay for the units which are generated through their deployed Solar plant. Consumer is charged based on the above mechanism in each billing cycle. If there are any surplus units they are carry forwarded to the next billing cycle. This process carries on for the entire Financial year.
Any Off-Grid Solar system works independently and is not required to be connected to the Discom Grid. Electricity produced is converted into AC Power by Solar Inverter to be consumed by the Building appliances. Surplus energy in form of DC Power is stored in batteries and can used as a back up as well during the night time.
Hybrid system is connected to the grid and also ensures consumption as storage of electricity within the Building premises. Hybrid inverter helps to convert the DC energy generated from Solar panels into AC power for the utilization within the building premises. Surplus Energy not being utilized in real time gets stored in the recommended Lithium-Ion batteries. Surplus at the third stage is passed on to the grid which will get added to the consumers Electricity for required reconciliation.
